San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico: Sierra Madre views from the rooftop infinity pool for $85 a night
Come for the minimalist interior of this boutique hotel, opened in 2009. Parisian designer Joseph Dirand envisioned the 39-room structure in a stark black-and-white palette, kept cool with poured-concrete floors, and accented with modernist classics. Arne Jacobsen's Swan chair and sofa pop up frequently, art by Rick Owens—like a giant antler—dots the lobby.
But stay for a pair of infinity pools on the hotel's rooftop, under a concrete canopy, which offer 360-degree views of the Sierra Madre mountains and all of San Pedro Garza García and Monterrey, some of the world's most breathtaking sunsets and fresh-fruit cocktails at the Poolbar.
Nightly rates start at about $85 per person for a double.
